I picked this '77 CJ7 for $500 that I borrowed from my sister back in the early 90's. It was literally a pile of junk, hence the name, "Junky". Everybody should own a Junky at some point. I spent 2 years building it. Originally it had a Chevy 350, sm465 4 speed, 205 T-case, dana 30 front and narrowed 9 rear. The 30 only lasted about 2 weeks, then I replaced it with a 44. At the time, it was uncommon to put a dana 44 in the front of a jeep. I was running 5.38 gears and 36 in. swampers. The first pic shows all the "extra gear" (junk) that I had to take with me because I was always breaking! Through the process of elimination, it became a pretty reliable vehicle. I used to go out all the time with Mr. Ed, making old school off-road videos, which he would sell. Junky got it's yellow makeover one night with leftover aircraft primer. By the time it was photographed for Four Wheeler Magazine in March of '98, it was reaching retirement. I later sold it to my brother, who gave it a new body, tires and wheels. I bought it back from him, put a new clutch in it, and sold it once again. Several years and owners later, Junky showed up down the street. I became good friends with it's owner. Junky has changed hands 3 more times since.
